Holger Biermann, born in 1962 in Nienburg, the “pearl on the Mittelweser”, discovered hi-fi in his youth. At 15, he read the first issue of AUDIO, and a year later the first issue of STEREOPLAY, both of which he devoured every month from then on. After a detour via civilian service and studies (intermediate and modern history), Holger ended up at AUDIO at the end of 1991, where he spent eight years learning the trade of hi-fi journalism and preferably testing loudspeakers. This was followed by two years at VIDEO, and in 2000 he became head of the editorial department and later editor-in-chief at STEREOPLAY, where he liked it so much that he stayed for 14 years.
As one of the founding fathers of LowBeats, Holger is one of two managing directors of the GmbH (the other is Raphael Vogt) and acts as editor-in-chief: he expands the author network, maintains contacts in the industry and takes care of the appropriate LowBeats topic mix on the site. And of course the convinced hi-fi enthusiast also tests a lot himself – preferably and most frequently loudspeakers. And when he has time, he also runs wine and whisky tastings for very selfish reasons…
